Joel grew up in the Western Foothills of Maine, in a little town called Mexico (yes, really). The youngest of five, he has witnessed supreme financial management most of his life, as his parents had a child in college from 1982 through 1999. His father worked hard for 46 years in the local paper mill, and his mother was the Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent of Schools.
Joel graduated with honors from the University of Maine at Orono, with a BS in Education. He was also inducted into the English and Education honor societies. In 2004, Joel received his Masters of Education degree. Having been a classroom teacher from 1999 through the spring of 2004, Joel took an opportunity to get into the financial services industry.
2023 marks 18 years in the financial services industry for Joel. He attained the Accredited Asset Management Specialist (AAMS®) designation from the College of Financial Planning in 2011. He is currently studying for the Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation.
Joel lives in Alton with his wife (Melissa), two children (Campbelle 12 and Xavier 14) and appreciates the low property tax rate and friendly local Dunkin’s staff that know him on a first-name basis.
